I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Biosciences. My project aims to identify genomic structural variants that have played a role in Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) evolution and bring functional advantages, and for those who do, if their frequency is different between salmon populations, especially between wild and cultivated ones. These results could contribute to the sustainable maintenance of both wild and farmed Atlantic salmon.
