Study plans: Master's degree (2 years) in Data Science

On this page you will find links to study plans for different admission years on the master's degree (2 years) in Data Science.

The 2-year master's degree consists of 120 ECTS and includes:

• Mandatory courses for Data Science
• Elective courses for specialization
• Master's thesis of 30 ECTS
• The 2-year master's degree must contain 30 ECTS of courses on master's level (300-level) within the field of Data Science and elected specialization. Some of these ECTS are covered by mandatory courses. The rest must be elected by the student. Please refer to the study plans for recommended courses based on field of specialization.

• Changes in courses from previous study years

  Please note the following changes to the courses in the previous study plans

  Changes for study year 2025/2026

  • DAT390 is changed from 5 ECTS to 10 ECTS. Students who have previously completed the 5 ECTS version from the previous study year does need to re-take this new 10 ECTS version, but needs to ensure that they fill the 5 remaining ECTS with another course on 300-level (to fulfill the criterion of 30 ECTS on 300-level).

  Changes for study year 2024/2025

  • DAT390 was reduced from 10 ECTS to 5 ECTS. Students with the 10 ECTS version in their education plan must find an additional course of at least 5 ECTS on 300-level to fulfill the criterion of 30 ECTS on 300-level within their master's degree, if not covered by other elective courses on 300-level.

  Changes for study year 2023/2024

  • INF200 was replaced with INF201 + INF202/INF203
  • INF230 was previously on the spring parallel, but has been moved to the autumn parallel
  • INF205 was previously on the autumn parallel but has been moved to the spring parallel
