Activate user account or change password

All new students must first activate their NMBU user account (Feide login) at https://tilgang.sikt.no/nmbu

How to activate your user account or change password

Once your user account has been activated, you will get access to:

  • Studentweb (semester registration, semester fee, education plan, register og withdraw from courses, examination information, assessment and more)
  • Canvas (the digital course room with information about the course)
  • Eduroam (NMBU's wireless nettwork)
  • Other IT services which require Feide login.
Feide is the national solution for secure login and data sharing in education and research.

IMPORTANT: Remember your username and e-mail address (for new users from autumn 2024 these will be identical). You will need your e-mail address to access all of the tools your will use throughout your education.

Account closure/deletion

IT services when students finish their studies

What happens to your files and email when you leave NMBU?

  • Access to NMBU’s IT services is limited to the period during which you are an active student.
  • Two months after your study rights have ended, you will receive an email from NMBU informing you that your access will be closed.
  • A reminder is sent one week before, and again during the last two days. During this period, you are responsible for transferring all relevant files from OneDrive and any important email to your own computer. Contact the IT department if you need practical assistance or advice.
  • Three months after your study rights have ended, your IT access will be deactivated and you will no longer have access to your data.
  • The data will then be deleted, and it will no longer be possible to recover it.

Deletion of data

NMBU is only permitted to process (store) personal data as long as the purpose of the processing still exists. When a student leaves NMBU, the purpose for processing their data—including personal information—ceases. This means that the data must be deleted. User data is therefore deleted from NMBU’s IT systems 90 days after the student relationship ends. After 90 days, it will not be possible to recover the data.
