It is expected that the portfolio presents a range of materials that highlight your relevant
skills, knowledge, and understanding of landscapes, landscape architecture, and
global sustainability. The portfolio should be a digital PDF, in A4 landscape format, of
approx. 4 pages. The content may vary depending on your background. We appreciate
evidence of diverse skills, knowledge, and experience tailored to each applicant’s
unique background and strengths.
The work displayed in your portfolio should:
- • Demonstrate creative skills.
- • Show your software abilities and communication techniques to visualise your
- design ideas.
- • Display design and/or socio-environmental work that clearly relates to
- landscape architecture and global sustainability issues.
- • Show evidence of an awareness of place, communities, and ecologies.
- • Communicate your work through clear visuals and writing.
The list below provides examples of elements to include, based on common applicant backgrounds, though it is not exhaustive.
- • Experience in art and design-related disciplines
- • Creativity and the ability to respond to briefs or needs
- • Skills in the use of relevant software such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign,
- Illustrator, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, GIS, etc.
- • Landscape or a design project (both at university and professional work)
- • Education or experience in Land-based sciences or related disciplines (such as
- • Geology, Geography, Ecology, Environmental Science or Management,
