About this course

The course provides work experience in a relevant organization, where the student and organization benefit mutually from the internship period, particularly concerning the organization's competence needs and training arrangements. The student will participate in and apply acquired professional knowledge to the organization's activities and their needs for training and competence development.

Learning outcome

A candidate with a completed qualification shall have the following learning outcomes in the subject: Knowledge:

Knowledge of relevant work tasks in enterprises and how they are worked on and future development.

Knowledge of how an enterprise organizes its daily work and training in the enterprise.

Knowledge of how one's own professional competence can be used and developed in working life (school and entrepreneurship).

Skills:

Can plan, prioritize and structure daily work in order to carry out planned projects and tasks related to competence needs and development in the enterprise.

Can reflect on one's own professional practice and adjust this under supervision, with employees and managers in the enterprise and industries.

Can communicate and reflect on one's own experiences, so that training in the enterprise and industries is developed in a training-industry collaboration.

General competence:

Can collaborate on professional issues, implementation of development of training/competence needs projects, in a working life situation for employees and future professionals.

Can reflect on and critically assess competence needs in vocational training and businesses/industries.

Can apply their knowledge and skills in new areas to carry out work tasks and projects in collaboration between training and businesses/industries.

Can consider implementing new content, working methods, technology and forms of collaboration specifically and broadly in training and businesses/industries.

    • employee interview during the internship

    Multimodal assignment.

  • Examiner scheme

    An internal examiner approves the assessment.

  • Mandatory activity

    • Deliver a contract between the student, business and academic supervisor
    • Completed work in the business in accordance with the contract

  • Notes

    The course is credit-giving. No salary shall be received for the internship period.

    To take the course, the student must:

    1. Find a business and internal academic supervisor.

    2. Write a contract with the company and the internal academic supervisor.

    3. Send a completed contract to studieveileder-realtek@nmbu.no.

    4. The study advisor sends confirmation of an approved contract to students, the company and the internal academic supervisor.

  • Preferential right

    Applicants who want to apply for a Master's degree with a PPU in nature-based production and activity, and lack credits in nature-based production and activity for admission. Other applicants who work in natural resource management businesses and schools, and who want to develop expertise in corporate training and corporate training development.

  • Admission requirements

    Students are responsible for obtaining internships in relevant companies. NMBU have to approves the companies.
