How to make it possible – A dialogue about student-led education

Can you imagine a university where students and teachers work together to create courses? A university where students, rich from these experiences, graduate with the willingness and confidence to become active changemakers in the world?

This is the potential of student-driven education, a transformative educational approach that fosters partnerships between students and professors to co-create courses and curricula grounded in students’ passions and understandings of the world.

In this event, we invite participants to contribute in a dialogue where we explore the opportunities and challenges of making this form of learning more widely available within our universities.

To spark the conversation, we will hear from four initiatives in four different countries where student-driven education has been successfully implemented. Building on these experiences, we will open the discussion to collectively reflect on what it takes, structurally, culturally, and institutionally, to make student-driven education possible.

Students, teachers, university leaders, and researchers let us join forces to enable student-driven education.

This event is part of DAY 2 of the SDG-conference 2026.
