Internship BIOVIT

During an internship you work in a company with tasks related to your studies. An internship can give you relevant work experience, broaden your network, strengthen your practical skills, and give you important experience from outside the university.

It is possible to do an internship during all periods of the academic year. If the internship involves travel, it is easiest to do it in the block periods or during the summer vacation.

You can work intensively over a few weeks in a block period or one day a week over a longer period.

    1. Find a relevant company
    2. Contact the company
    3. Find an academic supervisor at the Faculty of Biosciences (BIOVIT)
    4. Fill out an agreement/contract with BIOVIT/academic supervisor and the company/contact person, where the expected learning outcome and results are described
    5. Hand in the agreement/contract to the study advisor, who will register you for the internship course
    6. Create a suggestion for relevant syllabus literature together with the academic supervisor
    7. Do the internship, learn the syllabus, and work on a reflection report
    8. Hand in and present the reflection report in the semester where you are registered for internship

The number of credits (ECTS) you get from doing an internship varies, so you also need to determine the scope of your internship:

    • 125 hours corresponds to 5 ECTS
    • 250 hours corresponds to 10 ECTS
    • 375 hours corresponds to 15 ECTS

You will spend approx. 2/3 of the time in the company/research institution and 1/3 of the time working on the reflection report and presentation.

At the Faculty of Biosciences we have several internship courses depending on your field of interest:
