Successful gasification of sewage sludge digestate and mixtures of sawdust + sewage sludge

Gasification Experiments

Gasification experiments are performed with variations in power throughput, oxygen, steam-to-biomass ratio and reactor temperature.

S/B = Steam-to-biomass ratio
SW = Seaweed, dried and milled

We can control the Carbon Conversion, the Cold Gas Efficiencies and tune the H2/CO ratio, by mixing sludge with wood powder and optimizing the feedstock throughput and by increasing reactor pressure, reactor temperature and residence time. The H2/CO ratio, the Carbon Conversion and Cold Gas Efficiency can further be fine-tuned by balancing the oxygen/steam ratio, reactor temperature and amount of supplied oxygen (see emphasized bars for exp. 23 and 24).
