The right of public access versus nature conservation
In a context where increasing areas of land are being developed, conflicts are growing over the multiple uses of natural landscapes. Should the natural basis for outdoor recreation and the public right of access take precedence over safeguarding key wildlife habitats? Is there room for compromise? And who holds the responsibility for making such priorities or trade-offs? Do Norwegian legal frameworks provide clear guidance or regulations for balancing the multiple uses of natural landscapes?
