Biodiversity and Ecosystem Multifunctionality
Open seminar with professor Peter Manning. In English.
In recent years, there has been an explosion of research exploring how biodiversity relates to ecosystem multifunctionality, which is the simultaneous supply of multiple ecosystem functions or services at high levels. In this talk, several studies from the large-scale and long-term German Biodiversity Exploratories project will be presented.
These studies examine how changes in land use, and the associated changes in biodiversity, alter ecosystem multifunctionality at both local and landscape scales.
Additionally, the talk will demonstrate how the results of social surveys can be integrated into ecological research to show how land use and biodiversity changes affect stakeholder communities.
