Welcome to PheNo kickoff – future plant research and innovation

Discover the future of plant phenotyping and gain insight into how we can work together to meet the agricultural challenges of tomorrow. Experts, researchers and industry leaders share groundbreaking technology, national and international initiatives, and solutions for sustainable plant production.

Date:

Place:

Hovedkvarteret

Address:

Vitenparken Campus Ås

The seminar brings together researchers, technologists,  industry, farmers and other interested parties to share insights on how phenotyping and related technologies can contribute to sustainable plant research and agriculture. The main topics include innovative technologies, national and international research infrastructures, and industry perspectives on improving plant productivity, quality and sustainability.

The programme is divided into several sessions:

  • Scientific: Presentations on the PheNo infrastructure, technological upgrades, and European and Norwegian initiatives for plant phenotyping that support the development of climate-adapted plants.
  • Industry perspectives: Focus on how phenotyping can accelerate plant innovation, improve nitrogen utilisation, and meet the need for new plant varieties for better yield and quality.
  • Technology: Presentations from experts discussing the use of advanced technologies for plant phenotyping, including Phenospex, PlantEye F600, QSorter, and Labdeers for seed phenotyping.
  • Roundtable discussion: Focuses on PheNo as a national infrastructure, with an emphasis on opportunities and challenges.
  • Guided tour: Visit to the SKP facilities and the robotics group at REALTEK.
