About this course

Lectures are given in basic legal methodology, with a focus on the foundations of the doctrine of legal sources and how legal methodology is influenced by international law such as human rights and EU/EEA law. The lectures emphasize practical examples related to NMBU’s fields of study. The course includes plenary reviews of assignments. Study group work is not mandatory, but recommended. For students coming directly from videregående, the course may be experienced as demanding. Abstract concepts will be introduced, requiring time and reflection to develop proper conceptual understanding. It is important that students invest significant independent effort and begin reading the syllabus as early as possible.
