About this course

The course aims to provide students with a thorough understanding of how to raise capital for new businesses. It covers topics such as venture capital, angel investors, crowdfunding, loans, and public support schemes. Students will learn to develop financial strategies, create business plans, and investor presentations. Students will also become familiar with relevant agreements in equity financing, such as shareholder agreements. Students will gain insight into the challenges and opportunities in startup financing using real cases.

  • Learning activities
    Lectures, guest lectures by investors, support system, exercises, and case assignments. The course is based on students actively participating in discussions.
  • Teaching support
    Canvas and follow-up through guidance. Students will prepare and sign a team contract that regulates teamwork.
  • Prerequisites
    INN200 or equivalent. INN340/341 or INN271 or IND220 or equivalent.
  • Assessment method

    A written report must be submitted in order to take the oral exam. The course concludes with an oral group-based exam during the teaching period. The oral exam will be based on the work the students have done and learned during the course, and the written final report. The exam constitutes 100% of the assessment basis. There is no resit exam in this course. The final assessment is based on an evaluation of the presentation and a discussion with the examiners.

  • Teaching hours
    Lectures, tutorials, and workshops 3 days per week. The number of hours will vary from week to week. Additionally, seminars and group work will be organized. Consistent and independent team work is expected throughout the January block.

    Students in the Master's program in Entrepreneurship and Innovation have priority.
