Shai André Divon is a Professor of International Environment and Development Studies at the Department of International Environment and Development Studies (Noragric), Faculty of Landscape and Society (LANDSAM), Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). He previously served as Head of Department at Noragric.

Professor Divon's research focuses on power dynamics, human security, and development politics in Africa and the Global South. His interdisciplinary work explores the intersections of governance, culture, and security, with particular attention to the impacts of foreign assistance and post-conflict reconstruction. He has led and contributed to numerous international research and education projects funded by the Norwegian Research Council, EU Horizon 2020, EU FP7, and the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-dir).

His teaching portfolio includes courses in Global Development Studies, International Relations, and International Environmental Studies Master's programs. He has extensive field experience across four continents, including significant work in African and Asian countries, the Middle East, and North America.

Professor Divon has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and is the lead author of United States Assistance in Africa: Exceptional Power (Routledge, 2017). In 2016, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and served as a Visiting Scholar at the School of International Service, American University in Washington, D.C.
