Mari holds a M.A. in architectural lighting design from Wismar University of Applied Sciences and a B.A. from the University of Southeast Norway. Previously, she holds a B.A. in Language and Communication from the University of Oslo with subjects Humanistic Informatics (formerly Language, Logic and Computability), Spanish and Media Studies.
She is employed at Norconsult where she has worked as planner and advisor since 2008. She has extensive experience in designing lighting for buildings and outdoor spaces, from concept and sketch phase to detailing and follow-up through the construction phase. She is a committed participant in the academic community and holds position as a member of the Norwegian Lighting Technology Committee at Lyskultur.
She started her Ph.D. at REALTEK in January 2024, researching the links between light and health. The Ph.D. project is partly financed through the Research Council's funding scheme for Industrial Ph.D.
