  • Ecology and Natural Resource Management Section

I am a full professor of ecology at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. My research investigates biodiversity and its changes in mountain ecosystems, with a particular focus on two areas: First, I examine species dynamics in response to human-driven environmental changes, using resurveys of historical studies to track shifts in species distributions over recent decades. Second, I analyze patterns of species diversity in mountain regions, from diversity patterns across mountains globally, over elevational gradients to detailed studies of more local plant communities. My work aims to provide robust scientific insights that inform both fundamental research and effective management of mountain biodiversity in a changing world.
