Esben Østergaard Eriksen (b. 1993, Denmark) is a trained veterinarian (2021) and PhD (2023) educated from the University of Copenhagen. Esben uses epidemiological methods in his research and he has expertise in the design and analysis of observational field studies as well as statistical analysis and programming/automation of processes in the software Stata. In addition, he is interested in methods for causal inference from observational field studies and has carried out several questionnaire surveys. Esben has previously investigated gastrointestinal diseases in pigs and how veterinarians make clinical decisions.
He is currently working on the Moo-ve project to 1) describe how movements of animals occur in the Norwegian cattle population 2) build an infection spread model to investigate how the bacterium Mycoplasma bovis will spread if it is introduced into the Norwegian cattle population.
Esben is also conducting research in dogs' health using epidemiological methods.
