Esben Østergaard Eriksen (b. 1993, Denmark) is a trained veterinarian (2021) and holds a PhD (2023) from the University of Copenhagen. Eriksen uses epidemiological methods in applied research on the health of dogs, pigs, and cattle. He has expertise in the design and analysis of observational field studies, as well as in statistical analysis and programming in R and Stata.

Eriksen is highly interested in the development and application of methods for estimating causal effects from observational studies (causal inference), as well as in the estimation of disease occurrence (prevalence and incidence). He is also experienced in using veterinary registry data and evaluating data quality.
