Arnkell Jonas Petersen

Associate Professor

  • Department of Building and Enviromental Technology

Arnkell is a civil engineer in indoor climate and energy from Aalborg University. He actively participates in the development of his specialty field in Norway, and is a popular speaker on topics related to sustainability, indoor climate, energy, daylight, facades, energy supply and solar shading.

Arnkell has a main position as an associate professor at NMBU in building technology and architecture, where he teaches and researches in energy, indoor climate, daylight, air conditioning and sustainability. In addition, he is Professor II at the School of Design and Architecture in Oslo, group for constructions, materials and ecology at the school's Department of Architecture.

Arnkell has extensive experience with research and development in sustainability, indoor climate, energy, daylight, facades, energy supply and solar shading. As well as optimization of larger buildings and simple buildings both in the detailed project and the early phase.

Arnkell has participated in standardisation of energy use in the built environment. First as a member of the norwegian comitte for Thermal performance and energy use in the built environment from 2010-now. And from 2023-2029 as the comitte chair of the subcomitte for calculation methods for thermal performance and energy use in the built environment, ISO/TC 163 SC 2 .
