I am a PhD candidate in the Water and Environmental Engineering Group at the Faculty of Science and Technology (RealTek). I received both BSc (2018) and MSc (2021) from Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey.
My research interest within the Resource Recovery Research Group comprises the wastewater/bio-waste management technologies for circular bioeconomy, biochar technologies, bio-based fertilizers from organic waste recovering resources such as water, nutrients, biogas, elements from waste streams.
From 2019 to 2023, I worked in TUBITAK project (Anammox) as a granted master student and at Kuzu Group (Construction & Plant Operation Company) as a R&D engineer. I worked with automated lab-scale and pilot scale systems which were operated with different biological processes such as COMAMMOX (COMplete AMMonia OXidation), ANAMMOX (ANaerobic AMMonium OXidation, in mainstream and sidestream), Deammonification, Canonical nitrification.
Between 2023 and 2024 (10 months), I worked as a guest researcher at TUDelft, The Netherlands. I was granted by Erasmus+ and COST Action groups (CA21146, CA20133, CA20127) to study AnMBR (Anaerobic Membrane BioReactor) and PNSB (Purple Non-Sulphur Bacteria).
