Course contents:
The course provides an introduction to selected key components in mechanical and process engineering. Components that will be looked at are, for example engines / engine principles, pumps and compressors. Furthermore, the technologies for extraction and processing of oil and gas, both from traditional fosil sources and based on biological sources. Biorefinery technology for the production of biodiesel / biogas / bioethanol, bioplastics will also be discussed. Each student will during the course put themselves into a single topic, search information on their own and present the results to the other course participants
Learning outcome:
After completing the course the student should know the structure and function of the important components in mechanical and process engineering.

Attain 80% of the lab exercises

Delivery of lab reports, pass or fail

Type of course:
Lectures and practicals, approx. 50 hours, 2+2 hours per week.
Examiner:
The external and internal examiner jointly prepare the exam questions and the correction manual. The external examiner reviews the internal examiner's examination results by correcting a random sample of candidates exams as a calibration according to the Department's guidelines for examination markings.
