Course contents:
The subject will have a focus on methodology for the implementation of the life-cycle assessment of food production,  packaging, waste management, energy production as well as other relevant products, in which the students will learn how to practice all the main elements in the methodology to this are described in the textbook and ISO standards. The focus will also be on applying the methodology to identify how environmental and resource information can be used for strategic development in businesses; to product improvement and to marketing.
Learning outcome:
A goal of the course is for the students to come up to an analyzing level. Students will be able to use the method Life Cycle Assessment, according to ISO 14040, for investigate environmental problems according to sustainable development.

Syllabus:
Chapters in text books, papers and data program. Overview will be given at semster start.
Prerequisites:
TBA210 or TIP200 or THT271.
Recommended prerequisites:
Basic knowlegde in environmental and resource sciences.
Mandatory activity:
Compulsory written assignment.
Assessment:
Written examination.

150 hours.

Type of course:
Lectures: ca. 2-4 hours per week.
Examiner:
The external and internal examiner jointly prepare the exam questions and the correction manual. The external examiner reviews the internal examiner's examination results by correcting a random sample of candidate¿s exams as a calibration according to the Department's guidelines for examination markings.
