Course contents:
-Hydraulics. -Irrigation techniques for park- and green areas. -Draining technques. -Risk of erosion and methods for protection. -Geomechanics. -Groundwater, local handling of storm water runoff. -Sustainable urban drainage. -Urban hydrologi. -Conventional versus nature based handling of storm water runoff, storm water runoff in cities, cleaning methods, infiltration techniques, dimensioning, equipment for and management of dams, open water ways and canals for storm water runoff.
Learning outcome:
Upon completion the students shall have knowledge of the handling of water in urban areas and green areas. They shall be able to use practical methods for planning and dimensioning constructions for handling of water.
Learning activities:
Lectures, student projects, visits to relevant sites, a semester assignment.

Lectures: ca. 50 hours. Excursion. One semester assignment must be passed before taking the examination. Exercises in hydraulic problems

The external and internal examiner jointly prepare the exam questions and the correction manual. The external examiner reviews the internal examiner's examination results by correcting a random sample of candidate¿s exams as a calibration according to the Department's guidelines for examination markings.
