The course includes Norwegian building laws and regulations. Procedures, project planning and project management is essential themes. Choise of contractor, project documents and specification of mass calculations, estimation of costs, tender control/estimation, contract development and negotiation will be taught. Facilities Management (FM) will also be a subject. Training based on IT-related tools/aids, including BIM (Building Information Modelling), will be introduced.
The students should have basic knowledge about projecting and completing constructions through traditional technical construction projecting and total projecting.
Lectures. Seminars/discussion groups with teacher present. Independent work on planning assignments. Self-study.

Final written exam
For a course of 10 credits, ca. 250 hours of work in total is normally to be expected. That means that, in addition to structured teaching, ca. 17 hours of work must be expected per week.
Minimum requirements for entrance to higher education in Norway (generell studiekompetanse)
Type of course:
Lectures: 52 hours (4 hours/week). Exercises: 26 hours (2 hours/week).
The external and internal examiner jointly prepare the exam questions and the correction manual. The external examiner reviews the internal examiner's examination results by correcting a random sample of candidate¿s exams as a calibration according to the Department's guidelines for examination markings.
