Course contents:
Different aspects of the interactions between plants and herbivorous insects will be taught through lectures. Important themes include interactions between insects and chemicals in plants and plant structure. The students will concentrate on specific topics in the term paper and seminars.
Learning outcome:
The students should gain insight into the complicated biological and chemical interactions between plants and herbivorous insects and their natural enemies.
Learning activities:
The subject will be discussed in lectures, exercises, a term paper and seminars.

Schoonhoven, L.M., van Loon, J.J.A. & Dicke, M. 2005: Insect - Plant Biology (2nd edition)

and provided scientific publications.

Prerequisites:
At least one of the following: PLV200, PLV210,ZOOL220, ZOOL240, BOT130, ECOL100

Mandatory activity:
Participation in exercises and seminars. Writing of a term paper
Assessment:
Oral exam counts 80%, term paper counts 20%. Both parts must be passed.
