Specialisation management, study programme Landscape Architecture and Landscape engineer study program.
The course is structured around a series of lectures. A semester assignment shall be prepared, individual exercises. Lectures: The most important standards and regulations are taught. Principles of private/public management cooperation are taught, and experiences with different forms of public competition of management tasks are discussed. Semester assignment: Throughout the course, project assignment will be given, which reflect the topics taken up.
Knowledge: - of theories, issues and processes within the following themes: - The relevant Norwegian legislation and government contract law concerning orders and tender documents for new facilities, operation and maintenance of green areas in relation to Norwegian green management - Law on Public Procurement - The Working Environment Act Skill application of methods in practical exercises use the right tools in relation to various issues General expertise: Self obtain new knowledge and acquire new skills relevant to green areas subject understanding, overview and independent scientific thinking in acc. the main standards, regulations, stages and actions They shall acuire an understanding and knowledge about the most important Norwegian standards and rules regarding management of open green spaces and there by use the right tools in relation to various issues.
The course is structured around a series of lectures. In connection with the lectures, there will be given references to other literature that is relevant for the course. A semester assignment shall be prepared, individual exercises.
Students receive supervision, mainly in groups, in connection with the semester assignment.
An overview of relevant literature, articles etc. is given during the course.
The third year of study in the respective study masterprogrammes, possibly the equivalent, must be completed. Second term of landscape engineer study program.
Elementary construction knowledge. From NMBU: LAA 116/121,PHI100 ,or equivalent from another institution.
80 % attendance at lectures, surveys, seminars and presentations, due to the fact that there is not much textbook material for this course. CF will be used as an comunication tool.
Continuous evaluation with partial assignments and presentation of exercises during the course. Individual folder with all exercises is submitted in Fronter within given deadlines.
Total workload: 150 hours.

The course is under revision. The content will be adjusted according to revised programs in landscape architecture and landscape engineer stydy program.
An external examiner participates in the formulation of assignment questions and in the final presentation.
