Students enrolled in the MA in landscape architecture and BA in landscape Construction and Management have priority.
LECTURES based on the pupose of the course. EXERCISES in groups and individually. EXCURSIONS exemplifies the course-team and clarify the professions.
Knowledge: Students will demonstrate knowledge of landscape architectural issues, know the breadth of their professions, the profession"s history / development, terminology, equipment types, site qualities, experience qualities and aesthetic qualities. Skill: Students will be able to collect and systematize the relevant knowledge in the areas mentioned above - and apply it to practical and theoretical problems in landscape architecture and to justify disciplinary decisions. They will be trained in critical thinking and reflection, get a sense of his professional contributions to society and to sustainable landscapes and their protection, including the accessibility for all, universal design. They should have a basic knowledge of materials and basic mapping and terrain understanding. Competency: Apply their knowledge and skills in new situations and contribute to creativity and innovation
Lectures, assignment work and practical exercises individually and in groups with limited guidance, presentation and review of papers in plenary and excursion.
The students are offered supervision one by one or in gruops. Fronter is utilized for information assignment hand-outs, etc.
Lecture notes. Litterature list will be presented in Fronter when the course starts, and further during rhe semester.

General study competence
80% of execises and excursions.All assignments must be handed in and passed.
Several different tasks with assignments throughout the semester. Closes with a larger project that also has an oral presentation.
About 150-170 hours of structured time in class, about 150 hours studies and exercises.

Aproximately: Estimated 150-170 hours structured devided on lectures, exercises, plenary reviews with critiques and discussionsin, excursions.
Mandatory field trips are covered by NMBU, inspections of project areas covered by the student.
External examinors are used to evaluate the course outline, some of the assignments and some of the student work.
