Course contents:
The main topics of the course will be taught in the following order: Feed ingredients, concentrate mixtures and feed technology.
Learning outcome:
The aim is that students, after having completed the course, should have good knowledge of the most important ingredients used in concentrate feed, as well as an understanding of the methods used for formulation and production in the feed factory. After completing the course, the student should have an understanding of the significance of concentrate feed for domestic animal production and aquaculture and be capable of participating in the public debate on topics related to concentrate feed.
Learning activities:
The course is mainly based on lectures on compendium and support literature. In addition, there is practical training in feed formulation, demonstration in a feed factory (FôrTek) and an excursion.

It is assumed that students have general knowledge in nutrition equivalent to the content of HFE200. For example, it is assumed that students have knowledge about energy and protein metabolism, nutritional requirements and other fundamentals in the study of nutrition and feeding.

Mandatory activity:
The students shall make a presentation of a publication concerning feed concentrate.
Oral examination: ca. 1/2 hour.

Ca. 30 hours of lectures, 10 hours of exercises and an excursion are being planned.
The course is given in the Autumn.
An external examiner will assess the oral examination.
