Course contents:
This course is given for students who do not have the relevant background to attend ECN102 Introduction to Mathematics for Economists. The course provides a quick review of basic mathematical techniques and skills. Topics covered are percentages, exponents, fractions, factorization, order of operations, linear and quadratic equations, system of equations with two unknowns, inequalities and functions.
Learning outcome:
To bring students to a level that makes them able to attend ECN102 Introduction to Mathematics for Economists.
Learning activities:
The lecturer/assistant teacher will teach topics and help solve exercises.
Syllabus:
All necessary course information will be given on the home page of the course in Canvas and when the semester commences.
Prerequisites:
One year of mathematics from upper secondary school. T- or P-mathematics.

Assessment:
ECN001 has no exam.
Nominal workload:
24 hours of lectures + exercises
Entrance requirements:
Minimum requirements for entrance to higher education in Norway (generell studiekompetanse).
Type of course:
2 hours per day in 2,5 weeks.
