The course consists of two parts one that deals with the basic structure and functions of plants and one developmental physiological part on the responses of plants to environmental factors. The experimental nature of the field is illustrated by practical laboratory experiments related to different parts of the course and also by practice in reporting experimental results.
The course provides an introduction to plant structure and basic knowledge on how plant works and are affected by environmental factors.
The students receive training in conducting practical experiments and presenting and discussing experimental results, applying key concepts and methods and collaborating in groups.
The students will gain basic knowledge of key topics in plant physiology and an understanding of plant structure and function.
The course includes lectures and laboratory work with the writing of reports. Exercises related to central parts are available. Repetition/discussion classes are provided.
Correction of the lab reports by the lab teachers. Central subjects will be discussed in specific repetition/discussion classes. Exercises to the different subjects in the course are available.

Lectures: 26 hours. Laboratory course: 12 hours. In addition, repetition/discussion classes are given.
Since the number of students has steadily increased in recent years, is it very important that the students are encouraged to register for the course as eearly as possible so that we can plan the lab course as good as possible.
The examiner contributes with discussion of the examination tasks and evaluation of these.
