Course contents:
Through lectures, literature studies and discussions with practice field, the students will get an overview of actors, institutions and policy guidelines for planning and implementation of public transport. Topics that will be included in teaching are principles for coordinated land use and transport, travel behavior and modal split, route planning and transport structure.
Learning outcome:
The course provides a basic introduction to communications with emphasis on the planning of public transport. Students will gain insight and overview of the various forms of public transport and the assumptions required to plan and implement a sustainable public transport services. Students will be able to create a strategy for the implementation of a place adapted public transport services. The course will also provide some introduction to tender description / ordering skills.

The course is recommended prior knowledge to LAA 270 Detailed planning of solutions for time, cycling and public transport, APL 360 Regional Planning and LAA310 Development of infrastructure projects in the countryside.
