Aachen University RWTH (Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule)is one of Germany’s leading research and education institutions in engineering. It is located in the center of Aachen, a city near the borders of Belgium and the Netherlands, with about 260,000 inhabitants. With around 30,000 students and its position in the heart of Europe, RWTH offers a dynamic, international environment for study and research.

  • Agreement

    The agreement applies to engineering only at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, which primarily offers courses in construction. Both bachelor’s and master’s levels, 2 places.

    The agreement applies to business administration and economics at the School of Business and Economics, both bachelor’s and master’s levels, 3 places.

    Similar to NMBU, RWTH Aachen is AACSB-accredited.

    Length of stay

    1 to 2 semesters.

  • Who can apply

    All Erasmus+ agreements require the completion of 60ECTS prior to a stay abroad begins. Formal requirement: Applicants must have completed a minimum of 2 years of their bachelor's degree.

  • Language of Instruction

    German and English.

    • Courses held in German require documention of B2 level with CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference).
    • Courses in held in English require documention of B2 level with CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference).
  • Semester timing

    Fall semester: October to February.

    Spring semester: April to July

  • Tuition fees

    Erasmus students must continue to pay for NMBU’s semester fees, plus register with NMBU whilst they are on exchange. However, it is not necessary to pay any types of fee at the partner university.
