Course contents:
Will expand on compulsory topics from lower levels, but new topics will also be dealt with. Central topics are: Recipient capacity, critical loads, humic substances, acidification, eutrophication, cyano bacteria, climate change, agricultural pollution, erosion - and nutrient transport, pesticides and other environmetal pollutants, different models, water balance and catchment processes.
Learning outcome:
Good insight into the most central water pollution problems and factors such as diffuse pollution, eutrophication, acidification and hazardous substances and a bit about countermeasures against these. Understand important models in the mentioned fields and have knowledge of the natural variation in water quality with emphasis on the hydrological reasons and the uncertainties in the measured and estimated effects of pollution sources that is caused by this and also knowledge of measures that may be taken.

Lectures, excursion, student lectures, simple exercises.

VANN200, VANN210, VANN220.

JORD201, JORD250
Mandatory activity:
One to two excursions, student lectures, exercises.
Assessment:
Semester assignment with presentation: 40%. Oral exam: 60%. Both parts of the exam must be passed. Grading scale A-F.
Nominal workload:
450 hours.

Type of course:
Lectures: 58 hours. Exercises: 6 hours. Seminars: student presentation of semester assignment and student lecture: 0.5 hour per student. Excursion: 1 full day.
