Plans and design of systems for water supply, drainage and wastewater. Precipitation and surface water, urban hydrology and flood estimations. Transport network for water supply and waste water with their components, water demand, discharge of wastewater, ground water for water supply and well drilling. Renewal and rehabilitation of transport network and protection against pollution of water sources.
The students will be able to address the following phases in the water supply and waste water treatment projects: idea, planning, dimensioning, rehabilitation and sanitation of older installations. The students will learn planning and dimensioning of infrastructure elements for water and waste water. These are transport network, transport systems, pumps and other related equipment for water supply and municipal waste water.
1) Lectures, 2) Project papers/term paper, 3) Exercises from previously given examination papers or other relevant assignments, 4) Excursion that gives an insight into practice.

Basic engineering mathematics
- Basic knowledge of fluid mechanics/hydraulics, equivalent to the pair of courses TPS200 (Fluid mechanics 1: Introduction) and TPS210 (Fluid mechanics 2: Engineering).
- Basic knowledge of hydrology
The term paper must receive a passing grade.
Written examination, 3.5 hours.
For a course of 10 credits, approx. 250 hours of work in total is normally to be expected.
Special requirements in Science
Reduction of credits:
5 ECTS credit reduction with THT200.

Lectures: approx. 45 hours. Excursion: approx. 5 hours. Exercise sessions: approx. 10 hours. Project assignment: approx. 2 weeks' work.
The external and internal examiner jointly prepare the exam questions and the correction manual. The external examiner reviews the internal examiner's examination results by correcting a random sample of candidates exams as a calibration according to the Department's guidelines for examination markings.
