This course starts in Spring parallel. This course has teaching/evaluation in Spring parallel.

First time: Study year 2008-2009
Reforestation. Harvesting and terrain transport. Forest machines. Ergonomics. Forest road planning, construction and maintenance. Logistics, including truck road and railway transportation of timber and other wood fibre products. Environmental and climate considerations.
The students should be able to explain the use of relevant equipment and machines for implementation of worktasks in primary and secondary forest operations, the effectiveness of machines and methods under different forest and terrain conditions. Planning, operational management and quality control of fully mechanized and less mechanized machine systems, the development and implentation of logistics in the wood fibre procurement chain.
The students should be able to identify and use the relevant data for planning, executing and evaluating of the forestry activities
The students should be familiar with all the aspects (opportunities and challenges) of forest operations related to the forest sector
Lecture based with labwork and excursion days.
Presented at the start of the semester.
Portofolio consisting of several exercises 25%
Final three hour written exam 75%
250 hours with lectures, labworks, excursions and self study.
Minimum requirements for entrance to higher education in Norway (generell studiekompetanse)

External examiner assesses all exam papers. Excursions approved by staff.
