This course starts in Spring parallel. This course has teaching/evaluation in Spring parallel.

Reforestation. Harvesting and terrain transport. Forest machines. Ergonomics. Forest road planning, construction and maintenance. Logistics, including truck road and railway transportation of timber and other wood fibre products. Environmental impacts.
The students should be able to explain the use of relevant equipment and machines for implementation of worktasks in primary and secondary forest operations, the effectiveness of machines and methods under different forest and terrain conditions. Planning, operational management and quality control of fully mechanized and less mechanized machine systems, the development and implentation of logistics in the wood fibre procurement chain.
The students should be able to identify the relevant data for planning, executing and evaluating of the forestry activities
The students should be familiar with all the aspects of forest operations related to the forest sector
Lecture based with labwork and excursion days.
Presented at the start of the semester.
Written exam counts 50 % (3h) and assignments count 50 %. Both must be passed for passing the exam.
300 hours with lectures, labworks, excursions and self study.

External examiner assesses all exam papers. Excursions approved by staff.
