Course contents:
Course contents Crucial topics are: The character of nature-based tourism and outdoor recreation in Norway. Tourism management in protected areas. Environmental challenges, eco-tourism, nature interpretation, business certification schemes. Cultural heritage and tourism. The market for nature-based tourism. An excursion and the undertaking of a project exercise (term paper) are included in the course.
Learning outcome:

Knowledge: The course will provide a theoretical basis for analyzing nature-based tourism in Norway

Skills: The student shall learn how to write scientific reports within this professional field.

General competence: The students shall be able to contribute to scientific discussions within this field and to Impart concrete knowledge about the subject.

Recommended prerequisites:
Mandatory activity:
Project paper (counts 40%) and oral exam (counts 60%). All of the evaluated elements in the course must be passed to pass the course.
