Learning outcome
KNOWLEDGE: Students will gain an in-depth understanding of the selected topics for the course. They will obtain knowledge at the level of the most recent research documentation. The students will approach the highest level of knowledge within their chosen topics in dairy technology.
SKILLS: The students should be able to use their knowledge on their own scientific work.
GENERAL COMPETENCE: The students are updated within dairy science and is able to use the obtained knowledge within their own research.
- The course involves extensive individual work within a chosen amount of source material. Students may participate in colloquia with teachers as resource persons, given that the students are well prepared.
- The course responsible and other contributing teachers can offer academic meetings as an integrated part of the academic work at the department. Special appointments are made on request. Being a doctoral course, it will to a large degree be adapted individually. The course will mainly be based on self-study with guidance and continuous conversations with the course responsible or other contributing teachers.
- Relevant Master´s degree, prefereably with focus on dairy technology. An individual evaluation of the candidates' knowledge will be made. The candidates´ qualifications in dairy technology should preferably be on the same level as the knowledge acquired by taking courses in dairy technology at the master´s level at NMBU.
- Normally, a final written examination. If the course is taken completely on an individual basis, oral examination or written assignment can be used.
- An external examiner grades the examination.
- The course will be given on request.
- Discussion groups are arranged when required.
- PhD students with focus on dairy science/dairy technology.
