The course is structured as a series of lectures, short assignments and field trips that support students' work on a project. Themes graveyard functions as green space, cultural heritage, recreation area, legislation, management, historical development and new trends emphasized. Furthermore, the relationship between design, creation / construction and management. It is referred to relevant literature and project examples. Guidance i given individually and in groups. Quick Tasks, project and field trips are mandatory.
Knowledge: Landscape Architect student can apply advanced knowledge of complex landscape architectural issues and using the profession's methods and theories related to the topic graveyards. Landscape Engineering student can see graveyards in Norwegian government, different forms of organization and management tasks attached to graveyards. Students can legislation relating to graveyards and can participate in the planning and management of cemeteries in a multicultural, cultural and contemporary perspective.
Skills: The student acquires skills in formulating scientific reasoning with reference to various sources and critical assessment of those. Further skills in observing and analyzing the local conditions as a basis for decisions. Steering own learning, take responsibility for their own creative process and professional development upon completion of a project.
General competence: Self obtain new knowledge and acquire new skills relevant to the planning and management of green areas in general and cemeteries in particular, and have critical look at their own work and reflect on the arguments and other consideration perspectives.
Introduction to the topic through lectures with relevant short exercises and field trip to the project area in January block. Project Working with joint review in parallel. Visual journal / sketchbook is mandatory tool throughout the course.

Visual journal / sketchbook / project diary, course assignments, project work, field trips, review in plenary and any seminar is mandatory. Travel to a joint inspection of a task area in one of the excursions, beyond the students must cover their expenses in connection with tasks.
Visual journal / sketchbook / project diary, short assignments and project assignment with oral presentation will be assessed. The weighting of the submissions given at course start. The assignments / submissions judged by marks A-F.
Total workload: 300 hours.

Teacher considering short tasks and visual journal / sketchbook / project diary. The external examiner assesses the project paper including oral presentation. Sensor provides input on subject content and structure, and task texts.
