The course is structured as a series of lectures that support students' work on one short assignment and a project. Material science, engineering constructive solutions and the design and construction process are emphasized. Selected lectures and a task is shared with LAA215 construction design. It is referred to the relevant literature and project examples. Students must search in literature, websites and project examples. Guidiens will be givend individual or in groups.
Knowledge: Students can develop creative design solutions for various items, vegetation and materials used in green areas, the structural requirements for materials normally used at different load / use, including foundations. They have knowledge about appropriate use of materials in green areas.
Skill: The ability to find creative solutions should be shown through project: the tender documents drawings, technical description NS3420, work program and self-regulation of project process.
General competence: Innovative solutions are related to knowledge and skills, with independent acquirement of new knowledge and new skills. To plan and implement various tasks and detailed planning in line with professional ethical standards.
Lectures, field trips, short assignments, project work, group work and supervision.

An approved 2 1/2 year study in Landscape engineering from NMBU or other educational institutions, or the equivalent. An approved two-year basic block in Landscape Architecture from NMBU or the equivalent. .
LAA115/LAA221/LAA233 and LAD100.
One hand-in assignment with LA-students. 100% participation at oral reviews and excursions - absence requires a Medical certificate. 80% participation in other compulsory activities and mandatory guidance.
Project assignment is evaluated. Marks A-F. Students can obtain different marks in this project assignment based on the criteria effort and participation in Project work. Other compulsory activities listed on the Schedule, must only be approved as passes - not passed.
Total workload: 250 hours.

Reduction of credits:
Whith LAA215, 5 ECTS. It granted an exempt public task and a excursion.
Type of course:
Lectures and seminars: about 40-45 hours. Workshop/review sessions: 20-25 hours. Field work and excursions: 10-16 hours. Supervision:about 2 hours/student.
Costs of compulsory field trips will be covered by NMBU.
Internal examiners / Teachers approve one short assignment as passed - not passed
Subject responsible teacher approve other compulsory activities.
External examiner in collaboration with internal examiner assess the assignement.
