About this course
The course is built up as a series of lectures and compulsory activities that support the students' work on two assignments. There will be some cooperation with LAA215.
First a mandatory short task is completed.
Then a design assignment is carried out with drawings and descriptions aimed at construction consisting of several parts.In order to solve the thesis, all lessons learned through previous courses in the LING programme should be applied. This is e.g. knowledge of tarrain and surface water, materials, foundations, coatings, edges, other constructive solutions, soil and plant use, as well as knowledge of descriptions, drawings and contracts. Relevant literature and project examples are referred to. Project management and process understanding will also be included. In addition to previous lectures, students must find relevant sources through searches in literature, websites and project examples. Guidance will be given in groups.
Learning outcome
Knowledge:
- The student has knowledge of general guidelines for development towards more sustainable solutions for developing new green spaces in urban environments.
- The student has knowledge about of soil condition, terrain grading, stormwater management, materials, foundations, coatings, edges and simple structures - as well as soil and vegetation used in green spaces
Skill:
- The student can find out the overall requirements of relevant legislation, Tek17 and Norsk standard, as well as the Byggforsk series and industry standards for the design of a public green system with good quality.
- The student has the ability to use digital tools for designing an illustration plan, overall technical plan and technical detailed drawings.
- The student is capable of doing risk analysis of plant use.
- The student has the ability to create an offer basis for describing an entry price using NS3420
General competence:
- The student has the ability to carry out a binding collaboration with other students, document this and carry out self-control of the design.
- The student has the ability to new thinking and independently obtain relevant background material in order to acquire new skills.
- The student can plan and carry out varied assignments and design in accordance with professional and professional ethical requirements.
