The course is structured as a series of lectures that support students' work on short assignments and a project. Material science, engineering constructive solutions and the design and construction process are emphasized. Selected lectures, one excursion and a task is shared with LAA215 construction design. It is referred to the relevant literature and project examples. Students must search in literature, websites and project examples. Guidiens will be givend individual or in groups.
Knowledge: Students can develop creative design solutions for various items, vegetation and materials used in green areas, the structural requirements for materials normally used at different load / use, including foundations. They have knowledge about appropriate use of materials in green areas.
Skill: The ability to find creative solutions should be shown through project: the tender documents drawings, technical description NS3420, work program and self-regulation of project process.
General competence: Innovative solutions are related to knowledge and skills, with independent acquirement of new knowledge and new skills. To plan and implement various tasks and detailed planning in line with professional ethical standards.

An approved 2 1/2 year study in Landscape engineering from NMBU or other educational institutions, or the equivalent. An approved two-year basic block in Landscape Architecture from UMB or the equivalent. Approved bachelor in Landscape Architecture from other educational institutions.
LAA115/LAA221/LAA233 and LAD100.
Students need to attend 80% of woorkshop,commen valuation and excursions. Clean up rooms used in LAA216.
Project assignments and studentpresentation are evaluated. Marks A-F.
Total workload: 300 hours.
Minimum requirements for entrance to higher education in Norway (generell studiekompetanse)
Reduction of credits:
Whith LAA215, 5 ECTS. It granted an exempt public task and a joint excursion.
Type of course:
Lectures: 30 hours. Workshop/review sessions: 30 hours. Field work and surveying: 10-16 hours. Supervision:about 2 hours/student.
Costs of compulsory field trips will be covered by NMBU.
Teacher evaluates short tasks. External evaluator on the project task.
