Course contents:
The course covers the following topics: - The conceptual framework - Projects - Projects Selection - Management, implementation and monitoring of projects - Project Organization and Management - Methods and techniques of problem solving, profitability analysis, risk - Selection of Concept
Learning outcome:
The course provides students with basic knowledge of what project work is, and the different elements included in a project. After course completion, students will have knowledge of basic concepts and how projects are initiated and controlled. The students will have an understanding of project work, and how projects are organized and managed, and they should be able to use different methods and techniques within problem solving, project selection, profitability analysis, network planning and risk assessment. Furthermore, they should have insight into cost estimation and project monitoring. In the course there will be given examples so that students get a practical understanding of the topic.
Learning activities:
The course is based on internal and external knowledge and experience in project implementation and management. Practical examples in combination with theory will be emphasized. Student teams conducts several case that relate to the themes of the lecture. The teamwork is also used for practical training on project work where evaluation of the process is an important element.

Mandatory activity:
Participation in the assignment is mandatory.
Assessment:
Mandatory assignment counts f or 40 % and written exam 60 %. The final exam lasts 3 hours.

A course of 10 credits normally requires 300 hours of work
