About this course
IMRT100 is the introductory course for studies towards a Master in Technology, Bachelor in Geomatics and Bachelor in Energy and Environmental Physics.
Students will be inspired and motivated by a taste of their studies. Students undertake a project specific to their field of study in groups, aquainting themselves with problems and methods typical for their field of studies.
In addition, students will be be introduced to study techniques, to the faculty and NMBU, as well as refreshing their mathematics skills.
Learning outcome
- LECTURES where the different scientific sections present themselves, their challenges and future prospects for the collective group of students.
- DEMONSTRATIONS/EXERCISES where examples that compliment and concretise the material from the lectures are shown.
- SUBJECT-SPECIFIC ARRANGEMENT.
- PROJECT WORK including presentation of results and a completion of PROJECT REPORT.
- MATH WORKSHOP.
- Supervision in connection with the project assignment work.
- Evaluation in the course is based on the project plan, the project presentation and the project report. Students in each group are evaluated together.
- An external examiner will approve the course content and teaching arrangement, and take part in the assessment of a randomly selected set of project reports.
- Mandatory participation in specified activities. Details are given at the beginning of the course.
