Course contents:
Introduction, The sun as energy source, Principles of photovoltaic solar cells, From sand to solar cells, PV systems, Solar heat absorbers, Solar heat systems, Environmental aspects
Learning outcome:
The course will make the student capable of understanding the concepts of solar energy conversion devices.

FYS 271, FYS 251, KJM 100

Mandatory activity:
FYS 375 contsitutes the laboratory part of the course and approved FYS 375 is required before attendance of ther written examination

Written examination 3 hours

Approximately 300 hours total.

Note:

It is strongly recommended to combine this course with the laboratory course FYS375.

The course is given only if at least five students have signed up.

Note: This course will be offered in the fall term 2014 and then again in the spring term 2016.

Examiner:
The external and internal examiner jointly prepare the exam questions and the correction manual. The external examiner reviews the internal examiner's examination results by correcting a random sample of candidate¿s exams as a calibration according to the Department's guidelines for examination markings.
