About this course

The course covers the process from the planning phase to the completion of the project plan, including literature search and referencing, formulation of research questions/hypotheses/problems, selection of research method, and development of the project description, as well as ethical considerations related to their work. By the end of the course, students should have completed a project description for their master's thesis.

  • Can independently describe a relevant theoretical framework and/or context that forms the basis for the project plan

The student:

  • Can plan a research project and write a project description with scientific format and language
  • Can conduct systematic literature searches related to their project description, summarize others' findings, and reference correctly
  • Can reflect on ethical issues related to their project

The student:

  • Can analyze and critically evaluate various data sources and apply them in academic reasoning
  • Can critically assess relevant ethical norms and values related to the chosen method in the project description
  • Can evaluate whether a research project requires different forms of registrations or approvals in accordance with current legislation

    Seminars and independent work on the development of a project plan in collaboration with supervisor(s).

    Dialog during seminars and individual guidance in agreement with supervisor on master thesis.
