Engelsk:The course will include the following topics (can vary from year to year): Historical development of concepts of gender. Gender in agriculture. Gender in rural development and resource management. Gender in development discourse and policy. Gender and economics. Gender and Human Rights. Gendered methodologies and analyses.
The course will introduce students to the concept of gender and development through examining the gendered dimensions of agriculture and resource management. Particular attention is given to exploring methodologies that allow for gendered analyses of social change.
Lectures, group work and take home exam paper.

Bachelor degree or the equivalent
100% participation is required, as well as several obligatory assignments during the course.
Exam in ENGLISH ONLY. The grade in the course is set on the basis of an individual take home exam paper assignment. The teacher can arrange oral defense of the paper if needed for grading.
About 60 hrs structured teaching time plus ca. 90 hrs independent work. In all, about 150 hrs of student work.
