Course contents:
This is the introductory course for Bachelor's students in international environment and development studies. Its main objective is to provide students with an introduction to key topics and theories within the closely related fields of environment, development and globalisation. The course will provide examples of environmental issues and social and political aspects of development.
Learning outcome:
After taking this course, the students will have gained an overview of the key topics that are the focus of the Bachelor¿s programme in "International Environment and Development Studies¿, as well as insights into the various interdisciplinary theories and analytical approaches that are taken towards a providing deeper understandings of the most important environmental and development challenges.
Learning activities:
Teaching will be a combination of lectures and discussion fora.

The relevant literature and reading lists will be made available to course participants on Fronter.

Mandatory activity:
Submit signed plagiarism declaration.
Oral exam in ENGLISH ONLY.
Nominal workload:
Lectures/discussion fora (37 hours) and reading (113 hours). 150 hours of student work in all.
