Students who have not completed their learning goals to satisfaction during their previous practice period at NMBU may be required to complete their external practice at NMBU as well. Provisions are made for an eight week student exchange if deemed appropriate.

Compulsory tuition and requirements: Clinical pactice is compulsory and 100% attendance is required. Students have three days of self attested sick leave at their disposal, which may also be used for funerals in the immediate family. However, a period of 14 days' attendance is required between each day of leave. Any absence beyond these three days must be attested by a physician and a medical certificate handed in to the school's practice coordinator. If the absence 20% per rotation, this absence must be made up for later. To what degree is up to the discretion of the those in charge of the block. Students must make up for all unapproved absence in its entirety. No dispensation is given for medical reasons. All absence must be reported to the clinic in question, or, when this is not possible, to the person in charge of organizing the clinical practice. See also the rules of the regulation.

Students are evaluated during their clinical practice according to current evaluation methods. Students may be required to submit an expanded journal during clinical practice, and are expected to submit journals and other evaluation documents in accordance with information provided in Canvas.

Student progression is continuously evaluated through a written list of skills, which the students themselves bring with them to the clinic. A copy is to be submitted to the practice coordinator at given intervals in order to document progression. The  lists are to be signed and submitted to the practice coordinator at the end of clinical practice. Journals and other required documents are to be submitted at certain deadlines.

Video material documenting skill progressjion and ability of self evaluation must be submitted.

    All practice is compulsory.

    See separate rules regarding absence.

Students must have their progression approved according to the list of skills. Journals, other submissions and practice evaluations must also be approved. Detailed information about deadlines and requirements is provided in Canvas.

If journals and other submissions are not approved, students are given the opportunity to revise them and submit them for a second evaluation. Only when they are approved, may the student sit for the OSCE exam.

Students must have passed all evaluation forms in order to have their clinical practice approved.

Student satisfaction is evaluated twice during the external practice period, through Questback or equivalent.
