About this course

Master's thesis in science didactics is professionally oriented and is written based on the student's subject1. It consists of independent research and development work that is carried out in the last semester of the study. The master's thesis is written as a monograph individually or in pairs. The student(s) will be guided along the way by an appointed supervisor and possibly co-supervisor(s). The guidance should support the student's choice of literature and research design, and ensure that research ethical guidelines are followed.

Learning outcome

The student must

- Carry out independent research and development work based on a justified issue/research question- Use relevant theory and literature in the research work

- Use relevant research methods and discuss opportunities and challenges the choice of method provides for data collection and analysis

- Analyse, discuss and draw conclusions from an independently conducted research project

- Communicate the project's research and experience-based knowledge both in writing and orally

- Follow research ethics guidelines, and be able to assess the research work with regard to research ethics, and obtain the necessary approvals

- Work independently and possibly participate in relevant research groups

- Write the master's thesis according to academic style and requirements, with a clear connection between the various parts of the thesis

    Master's degree forum with seminars in the spring semester.

    Literature is chosen by the individual student based on assessments of relevance.
  • Assessment method

    Written assignment with oral defence, counts 100%.

    Assessed with a letter grade, A-F.
