Academic Dugnad for refugees
Several higher education institutions in Norway have intiated an academic dugnad for refugees.
The goal is to make it easier for qualified refugees with higher education to apply for relevant studies or work.
Many refugees who come to Norway are highly qualified. NMBU would like to provide information to these individual about to use their qualifications or how to complete their studies in Norway.
NMBU has dedicated resources for various intiatives and activities on campus and in collaboration with other academic institutions.

We will facilitate flexible arrangements, which involve both admission to ordinary study programs and the possibility to follow selected subjects.
If you would like to continue your studies at NMBU or another academic institution in Norway, the information below can be usefull in the starting the process. Additional questions and inquiries can be sent to opptak@nmbu.no.
- Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education(NOKUT) has detailed information about the Norwegian Education System.
- NOKUTs country-specific database (Norwegian only) - can be used to compare foreign education systems to the Norwegian one.
- General Recognition of Higher Education - if you have previously higher education in another country, you may apply to NOKUT for general recognition. The recognition can be used to apply for jobs or higher education, or salary negotiations.
- Recognition for persons with verifiable documentation - if you lack documentation of your previous education or your documents cannot be verfied, it is possible to apply for recognition to NOKUT through their UVD-procedure.
